My husband purchased a vehicle at the end of February. We paid $2400 down and another $875 for license that were never mailed to us and $200 on first months pmt of $400. The transmission went out in the truck and we informed Walter the salesman. He turned it over to Elizabeth. We took the vehicle to the shop in town where we live and informed Carnes of the problem. The vehicle also had something wrong with a sensor and Walter had advised us that they would in fact repair it and NEVER did. The work all together was going to be at least $5000 which is more than what the vehicle is worth. I would call Carnes EVERYDAY to discuss the matter and of course if they answered i was ALWAYS told someone will call you back which was a lie. After weeks passing by and the payment date approaching, Elizabeth called and appeared to be very nice. (Found out later it was all pretense.). She wanted to know where was the vehicle and if i could get it out the shop. She said they would in fact check out the vehicle and if it was too much to repair then they would trade me out of it. I told her that i have the money for a note IF i needed to pay it. And her EXACT words were "no, we will see what we can do for you Mrs Turner." I asked her was this her way of repossessing the car or were they in fact trying to help us. And she said no, they are gonna see what they can do. I went to the shop and picked the truck up and left it at a place where they could easily find it. Carnes sent a wrecker and towed the truck back to Houston Tx which is 180 miles from here. I called and called SEVERAL times and no one called me back or could tell me anything. They would keep me on hold until the phone would FINALLY hang up. I knew then that this company is a RIPOFF. I definitely have called these people at least 50 times or more. When i finally got to speak with ELIZABETH, she informed me that the transmissin was fixed and it was over $1600 but would charge me a little over $800. I said ok. Then she tells me that i have to pay over $800 for the pass due notes that she had originally said the company would work with me on that IF the truck could be repaired. Then she tells me the towing fee was a little over $700. So everything that was promised to me was a lie. Mind you that ive paid $2400 down payment plus another $875 for license/tags that we NEVER received. And a $200 partial payment on a truck that we drove only 5 weeks and 4 days. I had asked Elizabeth if our repairman could fix the truck and they split the bill but SHE INSISTED on picking it up. I did not agree to pay a towing bill. It was Carnes idea to pick the truck up and take it back to Houston. Then they IGNORED my calls until it became pass due in payments. What about Elizabeth telling me to wait on a payment until they check out the vehicle. What happened to her word that Carnes would work with me if it was repaired. And what happened to my $875 for the license they never mailed. They could at least give me that money back because i paid for something they never rendered to me. And they have this policy if you send them a customer they will give you a referral check. Well i took my daughter to purchase a vehicle before all this trouble started and i received absolutely NOTHING. Carnes Motor company is a ripoff and i would like to know if i have any rights to receive any of my money back...
