I received by text a notification that I had won a $1,000.00 Walmart gift card. This was intended to be used to buy groceries. Just today, I purchased more minutes for my phone and was told by the clerk to enter the contest. I responded, " No thanks. I have already won $1,000.00. I am going to go online to claim my gift card as the number on the text is not set up."
I am on a fixed income as I am disabled. How many other disabled persons' have been affected by this false, hopeful lure in such bad economic times.
I am no Leagle Eagle, but, isn't this the stuff of which class action law suits are made? Would this not also involve the American Disability Act, and the State Attorney Gerneral's office?
I am fortunate not to have lost any money, however, it is emotionally devistating to have the hope of $1,000.00 to spend on badly needed groceries for a disabled person such as myself.
I am not one who believes in shame. However, in this case I make an exception! Shame on Walmart!!! I cannot help but to wonder if Sam Walton (?) is rolling over in his grave, or does the acorn not fall too far from the tree?
This cast a VERY dark shadow on Wal-Mart. They have lost my business until this scam is resolved.
