Consumer Report

I had been recieving phone calls repeatedly for a few weeks now from a 682-300-2403#. When I'd answer with my shop name and identify myself they would hang up. I'd even made a couple of comments about "watch this, its the # that hangs up on me everytime answer it." Last week I even wrote the # down and called it back; only to get a recording saying the # was no longer in service or had been disconnected. 4 times I called it. I kept getting faxes from a "Yellowpages" something or other giving me details on a website and a form to fill out. At the bottom it says something about $599.99. I would laugh and shred it. (why would I pay that amount when I come up in searches anyway? - wish would have kept one now) Today my phone rang... Already being annoyed and seeing THAT #, I answered the phone "CAN I HELP YOU!!!" I got a name (which I don't remember and didn't write down) of a woman with an Asian broken English accent. She went on to ask me if I'd like to renew my contract with them, of course I told her NO and I wasn't aware of me having anything with them. She assured me I didn't and that I needed to confirm that I didn't want my account renewed. She rattled on and on about stuff I wasn't sure of and told me she would put me over to a Quality Control something that would be recorded so they would have proof I did NOT want to renew... He would ask me a series of questions and I was to ONLY answer YES or NO to his questions and when it got to the part where he asks me about the $599.99, tell him I will send it in the mail. I asked her why I would be getting a statement for $599.99 when I don't owe them for anything she said she knew that but it has to be included with the paper work to Close out and confirm that I did not want to renew. (I knew it sounded cheesy but...) she asked me if I understood that at the end when he asked if I wanted to send it in I was to answer YES... I told her it didn't make sense but yes I did. "And Don't ask any questions, he does not deal with that, he is only Quality Control and it will mess it up if I do anything besides answer YES or NO and tell him I will mail the paper work back" she switched me over to someone named "BRAD" that spoke very good English. He went on to tell me that I was to answer only YES or NO to questions... He asked if my name was Savanna. Told him yes then said It is Stevana and he asked me to spell it because it was wrong. (which happens ALL the TIME) he asked if I would spell my last name to make sure it was correct. He verified my address. He went on with some other information and in the end he asked if I wanted it mailed to the address given... I said YES, then he proceeds to tell me along with the information to CLOSE OUT my account there will be an invoice for $599.99 that I need to send back with the signed form. OR I could save $100.00 today by paying with a credit card or check by phone. I said..."im not paying you any thing. What would I be sending you that money for? I have no idea who or what you are and Im pretty sure I've not done any business with you." He said yes if you look up YellowpagesPublic.com you will see yo uare on there. I said as I had him on the phone that I was NOT paying ANYTHING and I coouldn't find anything about me on that website. He transfered me back to the other person I was speaking to earlier and suprisingly we got disconnected. A man called back and asked for me... We got disconnected again. He called back and REAMED my coworker for hanging up on him... She put him on hold and I lost him again... I tried the # from my caller ID again and it says its been disconnected. I guess this hasn't been resolved. Maybe I will get the invoice in the mail in 15-20 days.
We will see. Do not be fooled... This is NOT a LEGITIMATE Co.
