I responded to the radio ad stating you could get a grocery stimulus of $2000.00 to use at any grocery store & on any product you liked. Basically, program was to track the spending habits at the grocery store. So after hearing this add many times & over a several month span, I figured it was legal. I spoke w / a rep on 3/12 to find out about program & eventually enrolled. The rep I spoke w / said nothing about this being a coupon program. He stated as the radio ad did, this was a stimulus program of $2000 to track grocery store spending habits. I was informed there was a $19.95 refundable deposit to start with. Once the grocery vouchers arrived I would be able to spend them at any grocery store & on any product I liked with the exception of alchol. Agreeing to this, I enrolled. This was
not the only offer the rep had. He also stated I qualified for 3 magazines for a trial period, I gave my choices & he continued with even more offers. One being Travel & Entertainment Club, the other being Money Ahead Now both in which I
was charged $1.95 for a 30 day trial but could cancel at anytime to avoid the
$19.95 monthly fee. After 30 min or so on the phone & prior to the call ending, I
again asked & the rep verified this was a stimulus grocery plan. There was no
mention of this being a coupon program. I started receiving one of the 3
magazines almost immed, rec'd my info for the offers but did not receive my
American Value Grocery pkg until 30 days later. As a matter of fact, I called on
4/5 to inquire where it was. I was told they were on a back log for the day I
called in & should get packet by 4/10, it came 4/11. After reviewing & registering my informstion in the 'coupon plan', I was annoyed as I did not receive the grocery store vouchers as promised for this supposed stimulus. I called customer
service immed to see where they were. The rep I spoke with was rude & short. She outright said there were no vouchers, this is a coupon program only & that
the info given by the rep as a stimulus plan for $2000 in vouchers was wrong. Needless to say, I sent a complaint to the company thru their contact us page so now I'm waiting for a reply. Not only that but the radio ad is still on the air. Like many others I plan on requesting a refund.
