They called my 82 yr old mother and claimed she would be receiving higher social security benefits they just needed to confirm her information... So mom goes ahead and shares name, bank account #, social security # etc. Spoke with bank about security breach and was told to just monitor account, but went ahead and froze her credit info. Lo and behold 3 weeks later the charge for 448.74 has been taken from her account with a weird check that has her first name twice-no last name. Had to close the account and open a new one. Tried calling the number on the check and was told this was a discount prescription plan for elderly? Sounded fishy, was given an address in Ohio then in Florida, they took the info and promised a refund... What a nasty scam preying on the elderly-please find them all and lock them up!
