Hi, I am reporting Direct Express as a scam company. First of all, I've worked in banking and it states on the back that this card is FDIC insured, and it isn't. First of all, when a bank is listed on the card, then that bank should be liable for anything that was lost or stolen, with their card. There are thousands of people that have these cards and unfortunately, when there are charges on their card that are unauthorized charges, Direct Express never ever gives them their money back.
That is because these cards are pre loaded. And Social Security has misled people by their tape that they have on their 800 number that states to you about having direct deposit, banking. And to be honest, it isn't banking at all. There is a bank on the top right hand corner, that told me that they just produce the plastic that the card is made of. And I told them that this is against all banking laws.
