Refusal to train offshore resources and participatiion in the export of software I developed to india

I was fired from PacificLife insurance company because I would not assist management in the outsourcing of my job to India. I had developed job aids to make doing my job more efficient. Management however prefers to have the work done by offshore resources, always thinking about a buck (or so they can outsource blame). I informed management that India is on the US Government list of countires where the export of compter software is controlled by the Bureau of Commerce and that I did not feel comfortable giving the software I wrote to the outside company in India. I accepted a job working for what I thought was an American Company. I was overqualified but it was close to home and seemed like a stable company.

After I finished designing and developing a solution to the outside vendor's software problem, PacificLife wants me to transfer my job aids to them so my job can be outsourced. To top it off, they want me to teach them how to use my job aiding tools! The vendors software package was generating source code too large for a java compilier. I figured out how to re-engineer the vendor product into partitioned components such that it was a viable product. As a professional, I documented the software and the workflow processes for the posterity of PacificLife, the business that paid my salary. They contend that the software is their property, even though most of the work was done in my head while taking a shower at home. I contend that they are entitled to shop rights on the software but I do not think it is right for them to transfer the software to a different legal entity. But, to be told to transfer the software offshore and to train the offshore vendors how to use it is over the top. When I told management there are some things I will not do for money and outsourcing American Jobs is one of them I was terminated. There is no end to corporate greed and this company is a glowing example. No-one actually "owns" PacificLife, it is a mutual entity funded by "Insurance" policy premiums of the affluent as a means of protecting their wealth. I recommend not working for this company and not buying or selling the products of PacificLife.
