Folks:
You won't believe the email I got from a person the other day from Rutherford & Chekene Structural Engineers. This person applied for the Structural Engineer positions at Rutherford & Chekene.
This idiot recruiting manager named Elizabeth Harshaw told the candidate the following in an email:
While your skills and background are certainly impressive, we do not have a position open that matches your skill set at this time.
Let's break down why Ms. Hardhaw is an idiot when it comes to recognizing engineering talent.
Here is the ad that was placed on Rutherford & Chekene's website:
Structural Project Engineer/ManagerThis position requires a master of science degree and three or more years of relevant experience, or a bachelor of science degree and five or more years of relevant experience. Candidates should have strong analytical, detailing and communication skills and should possess professional registration.
Does this candidate posses a Master of Science Degree? YES
Does this candidate have more that three years of engineering experience?
YES, this person actually has 13 years of experience.
Does this candidate have professional registration?
YES, this candidate is a California-licensed Structural Engineer.
Does this candidate possess strong analytical, detailing, and communication skills?
ABSOLUTELY This candidate can designed plenty of public schools and hospitals in the state of California for
the past five years.
So why doesn't Rutherford & Chekene want to hire this person? I bet it's either because they do not want to pay the salary for this person or that the principals of Rutherford & Chekene saw this person's qualifications and became
extremely jealous. Maybe Rutherford & Chekene participates in blacklisting. I have no hard evidence to prove the blacklisting, but based on the email, it seems like a possibility.
I would like to ask Elizabeth Harshaw a question: What other skills does a California Licensed Structural Engineer need to design a building? Did Elizabeth Harshaw do any actual checking with plan review agencies or even asked the candidate for references or design samples? Of course not! She would rather take the word of a former bad employer over a plan reviewer any day! Of course, based on her conduct so far, Harshaw would rather allow a former boss to place a bad engineer at Rutherford & Chekene that this boss claimed was good in her case, she would bring the whole company down just because she wanted to be lazy. Maybe the reason she refuses to do anything is that she's too busy contributing to the eventual heat death of the universe.
This candidate even gave me a copy of her voicemails! They easily prove that Elizabeth Harshaw is a lying liar. I even suggested this candidate broadcast them on the radio nationwide.
Many people may not have heard of Rutherford & Chekene, but they have probably been to their buildings they have designed. Let me list them for you:

With actions like this, she ought to change her name to Osama bin Harshaw. She acts like a terrorists towards licensed professional engineers everywhere. I think her fellow co-workers need to be informed to her idiocy as well, so I will list these names of the co-workers for you to see. They never even apologized to the candidate about her problems. This makes Rutherford & Chekene a really bad place for any engineer to work based on her actions, in my humble opinion.

Remember, folks, it's been over 9 months since Rutherford & Chekene has failed to save money for their clients by not hiring this candidate. Tell Elizabeth Harshaw to do the right thing and not throw away billions of dollars in potential savings before it's too late!
