Received a cashier's check that was from Community Trust Bank and the instruction was to deposit the check and send them back $1,000 via western union. My bank (Navy Federal Credit Union) cleared the check and even allowed me to withdraw the funds. The following day, the check was reversed and now I owe my bank the money that I no longer have. I even double checked with a NFCU bank representative to make sure that the only way that they will put funds in my account is after they have verified that the check was totally legitimate, and that I was reassured. But here I am today out $1,500!
