We were approached by Your Timeshare Genie to sign up with them so that they can rent out our Westgate Resort Timeshare. We signed a contract on the 15th of April marketing agent was Shawn Knights, Account number/listing ID 323496 & 323497. Business license number TC3904, amount collected from us was $944.95 via debit card.
The agreement was that, the apartment will be rented out by July. Since Your Timeshare Genie took the money from our account, there has been no correspondence from them at all. My wife and I
have made several phone calls to this company but it goes to voicemail and no one ever calls back.
I had to send an email to the company on the 25th of August Shawn Knight then replied 4days later saying they are right on track and rentals would soon start coming and they will contact us. We never wanted to sign up for this deal but the company spent so much time phoning and pestering us and they were guaranteeing us that, there are people waiting to rent the apartments and they just do not have enough for their clients.
We are a family that is struggling so much financially, to cough out $944.95 was a struggle for us. It is very disappointing and stressful to pay a company so much money and they would not deliver what they promised. It is very unfair for a company to be scamming people in this economic hard times.
If we had known, we should have followed our instincts and not paid that money. Your
Timeshare Genie has ceased to contact us so we do not know what is happening, no rental, no refund.
This company has shown us that they are irresponsible and there has been no form of communication from them. We just want a refund of our $944.95 and they need to be stopped from this kind of scam.
Why would anybody or any company want to cheat people in this time of economic hardship, or
at all? I am hoping that complaint can help us as this is so painful to know that we are being cheated of our hard-earned money. We are not millionaires yet, just a couple managing to pay their bills.
Please help!!! We would like Your Timeshare Genie to refund the $944.95 they took from our
account and they can take us off their list.
