Telebrand Who Knew Books
Consumer Report

Telebrand falsely charged my credit card for a book order on 3/5. I had ordered some books via a TV Commercial for "Who Knew Books" supposedly for $29.95. But right after I gave my credit card # they tried to sell a bunch of other things. All I wanted was the books for $29.95 but no person could hear me. All I heard was a tape rattling off more things I CoULD order and numbers to press—I pressed the #1 for everything they said, (#1 supposedly for "NO!). I contacted them to cancel the order! I was uneasy that they had my credit card #. Today when I went to my bank, sure enough they scammed me to the tune of a $59.93 for "so called "DELUXE hard back books" I did not order! (the charge overdrew my account). When I called Telebrand today Wed 3/7 their rep told me that she would "cancel" my order and that she would request an investigation. She said they would not have charged until they mailed the order. Yet my bank account shows they clearly did charge my card before mailing anything and at a different amount than stated initially in the commercial.
