Found a puppy on oodle marketplace for adoption. Asked if it was still available and was contacted by a Karen P saying it was. She requested my phone number to discuss the puppy. I was then emailed by Berlinda White with pictures of a chihauhau puppy named Mike. She said she had to relocate to Kiev Ukraine for her job and was being detained in the airport because she failed to get the proper paperwork to take the akc registered puppy out of the USA. She said she was being given 5 days to find him a home in the states or he would be euthanized. Having recently lost our dog to old age my heart went out to her and her daughter. I agreed to give him a loving home and she said she would make the arrangements to send him to me. I was then contacted by the pet transport agency stating that I had to pay for a climate controlled crate and transfer of ownership papers. Totaling $125 and asked to send via western union. I did thinking it was the least I could do for this puppy that was going through so much. I had asked the owner if she had already paid these fees so as not to pay more or double. She said no and asked me to pay it so he could be in his new home asap. I looked up the company after sending the money but as I had no control over who she chose to send him with I regret not researching further. I was told he was on his way and would arrive at 1:45am at phl. We went and waited for them to call to let us know where to pick him up as they said he was considered a cargo delivery the flight was not on the arrival schedule. I contacted them after waiting a few hours and was told he was quarentined in Hawaii for parvo. I was then told I was required to pay $360 to cover his treatment as well as kennel costs. I was infuriated and argued that they assured me he was healthy only a few hours earlier. They finally agreed that they were negligent and that if I pay only $100 for his vaccine they would have him on his way within the hour and cover the rest of the costs themselves. A few hours later I receive an email telling me that the puppy had a seizure and had died. I was then contacted by Saar insurance company telling me they realize their company was negligent and ask that I remain quiet about it and also say they owe me $3000 in retribution for my losses. All I need do is send them $300 processing fee and my bank information so they can send me my refund of course. I have refused to pay another dime. If this will help someone else not be scammed then my $225 was well spent. I have been aske by western union to speak with the FBI internet fraud complaint center at www.ic3. Gov. Please if all those scammed report these cons maybe we can put an end to this company scamming more good people like ourselves.
