On June 27th a home was rented to my husband and I, by Marion Corteo. She indicated that she would rent the home to use on a month-to-month due to the fact that she was working with the bank in order to save the home from going into foreclosure. She kept telling us that things are looking good and the bank is willing to work with her and not to worry. On November her son appears at the home telling me that his mom is in Pennsylvania due to the fact her sister is getting surgery so we must deal with him but he also stated that there was going to be a court date for a hearing and that they weren't aware of what was going on and they just found out via mail. So I told him to keep me posted, couple days later he calls me telling me that we have to move cause the bank isn't willing to work with his mom no longer. So I started doing some research and I found out that the home was in foreclosure since 2009 and the previous tenants were served with court documents that they needed to vacant the property and the home was placed in a sale auction in April 19th and on June 30 the bank had gotten the title for the home and now the bank were the owners of the home. On December my husband and I showed up to the court hearing and explained our situation to the judge and were given 90 days to remain in the home, but I tried going to report these people to the police station and they said that we weren't a victim because the bank was the one that was taken advantage and the bank was the only person that could go after them for the money that they took from us. We just want people to be aware of these people because they are going around renting properties to people when the homes are in foreclosure. They are still going around buying property to then rent them out and scam people out of there money and we feel it isn't right. We feel that there should be some kind of repercussion for what she has done and we might not be the only people that they have done this to and we just want people to be aware and do some research when someone wants to rent you a home.
