I joined the online dating service Cupid.com and came in contact with a man who represented himself as one George England. This man said he was stationed in Patkistan with the NATO forces but was originally from a small town outside of New York City. After several months of his being in contact with me he scammed me out of $6,645.00 for an airline ticket and as well the money was to transport his belongings from where he was stationed here in Canada as he wished to meet me. I naively believed his SAD STOREY and finally realized when he was calling from different telephone numbers and then asking for more MONEY that this was some kind of scam. Also, he threatened me saying that I wud be in some sort of legal trouble if I did not send more money. I had to change my phone number and block him and his email as well a Cupid.com. I placed a complaint with Cupid.com but they did NOTHING ABOUT IT. I did some investigating myself and found out that the numbers he was calling from came out of GHANA. Clearly a group of criminals scamming unsuspecting individuals by using a dating website. His email address was [email protected]. Has been blocked, the dating site has been blocked and I no longer receive any calls from any individuals associated with this horrible situation. I lost a lot of money under false pretences which amount to nothing but a scam.
