I agree with Jae from the Bronx. I was contacted by Mr. Lewis regarding getting a security job with AVS. I never did find out how they got my contact information. When I spoke to Mr. Lewis he was unclear about whether or not they offered armed or just unarmed services; he was unclear about what the training involved, and he could not give me a rate per hour for the jobs.
He said all of that would be covered in the interview. I was told my training would cost ONLY $100. There was never mention of having to pay more money. I went to the interview on Monday Feb 6th, and waited 50 minutes to be seen. During the interview, Mr. Cruz was only interested in how I was going to pay the $100. He could not provide any information about job placement.
Then he broke out the numbers, and explained that the training was actually $438., and that the $100. Was a down payment only. The remainder $338. Would be due immediately after 3 days of training. This was never mentioned during the phone call, or else I would not have scheduled the interview. Feeling really suspicious of the whole set up, I said I had to give it some thought and left, money still in pocket. Avoid always vigilant security - they're up to no good!
