Like everyone else I answered the door to two young guys who were raising money for a trip by selling magazines and also donating them to troops overseas. I clearly fell for it, but luckily only paid for 1 subscription as they were very overpriced. I wrote a check as I didnt have any cash on my person at the time. A while later I decided to google the company's name on the reciept and found out it was a scam. The first thing I did was call my apartment complex to tell them there were solicitors and that it was a scam. Then I called my bank to place a stop-order on the check. She then told me that with my check they had my account number and routing number. I quickly went to my bank and had my account frozen. If any of you paid with a check please be careful!
