In late 2011 I made a routine visit to the Uhaul store on Cleveland Ave. There was a small parking lot adjacent to the location and without thinking that there was any problem to park there, I did. 10 minutes later my van was gone. I thought for sure the van was stolen. I was frantic and ran back into the uhaul store and explained what happened. They knew immediately. The owner of the pawn shop across the street apparently owned the very small adjacent property and intentionally positioned two very small signs in a way that any unsuspecting patron of uhaul would not see the signs as they were tilted in a direction that was not clearly visible. And they were small. This devious owner of the pawn shop as I found out later that day is in cahoots with a slimy local towing company down the street. BEWARE: if you are renting a uhaul vehicle or looking to buy moving boxes do NOT park in the lot that adjoins the uhaul establishment. You will be towed and it will cost you $100 to get you vehicle, not to mention the angst and agrravation, like it did with me. This is one of the most devious arrangements I have ever been personally witness to and involved with. Further, I suggest you boycott this slimy pawn shop business in ft myers florida with locations all over town. The owner is a real beauty!
