The Colonel's Flea Market
Consumer Report

We walked in to the store and asked if they had any silver coins. We were shown 4 coins-silver in appearance, the size of US Silver Dollars. They were packaged in small cardboard/plastic cases as coins usually are and they were priced on the wrapper at $35.00 each. We paid cash for them. We checked them out being excited to see for ourselves what we had bought compared to the market. Well we found that all 4 coins are counterfeit. They are castings having no silver in them at all. I went back on the 30th of Jan to ask for my money back and was summarily refused. I was told that we were never told specifics about the coins, that they had been bought at an auction, though no memory of where the auction was and that we wanted them; they were for sale; we bought them and that was that. If the people at the store really didn't know anything about the coins they should have had them verified and if they did know they were fake they shouldn't have put the coins out packaged and priced as if they were the real thing. Either way this is bad business and bad for coin collectors as well. I have filed a complaint with the local police department.
