Lake Point Loan Services rep, Michael Roberts, contacted me that they had found a lender for a $5,000 loan @ 8.9%. However, they would need the first 6 months of payment as guarantee. I was to get a money pak and wire the money and the 5000 would be in my account 3-5 hrs. It never arrived. The next day I called and said the lender said I needed to take the basic insurance since I had had a bankruptcy within 3 years. I wired another $1,000, and was faxed a letter from the "CEO" - Burt Samuels - that I would have the money 3 -5 hrs.in my account. It didn't happen. I then called and they said the lender said I needed the FULL insurance - so another $1,000 was required. I sent that and received ANOTHER letter from the "CEO Burt Samuels" indicating I would have the money within 1 -3 hours. The weekend came, nothing happened. I called Michale Roberts back. Lender was charging a $500 lender fee since the funds were not released within the 5 days. Lake Point Services faxed me a letter saying that they would "credit" me the $500, but I needed to send it in. Which I did. The weekend came, with no funds in my account. I called the next week and was told they were sending me a "certified check" in the mail because there was going to be a 72 hr. Hold on wiring it. It would be there 3 -5 days. 3 - 5 days came and went. I called numerous times and was told "it's in the mail", and "be patient", and "must have gotten lost". This is a HORRIBLE and HARD lesson I have learned. I filed a complaint with our local sheriff's department. The investigator told me to go to the site "IC3. GOV" and file a complaint because it will go to multiple government agencies to include the FBI. I am doing that. I implore EVERYONE who has had to deal with these lying, cheating, and deceitful individuals to go to IC3. Gov and file your complaint as well. The investigator told me the more people that do that and the more $ they have scammed, the better chances we have of all seeing justice.
