Two guys in a white Van stopped me in West Covina, on my way to Petsmart. They asked me if I lived around here, and I said yes, thinking they needed directions. They started telling me about a Home Surround sound they had extra. We pulled over and they told me they were installers for this company Mclaren. They had ordered 4 ea. Sound systems and received 5. They didn't want to take it back to the boss because last time they had an extra flatscreen tv and took it back, the boss ended up keeping it for himself. So they didn't want him to get the extra this time. He also showed it to me in a magazine, showing the price was $1999.00. He then took me to the back of the van and opened it up, took out what looked to be factory sealed box with a surround system. He showed me an invoice with the system on it and the order of 4. He said they got 5. Showed me on the box the MSRP of it to be worth $1999. I asked him how much and he looked at the other guy and said they were looking to sell it for $3 or 400.00. He said I could just go to the bank that was across the way. I told him no, that's not my bank and I can't go there, but that I was going into Petsmart and I could get cashback. But that I couldn't get 3 or 4, the most I could get was $200.00. He said they had another install at 3pm, soooo, and it was almost 3pm He looked at the other guy and said "what do you think, she seems pretty kool" The other guy said "yeah that's ok, Karma" So I said kool, let me go and get my stuff and some cash. He said ok, let me put it in your car for you without giving him any money. I thought that was really nice and trusting. They waited in the van outside for me. When I came out, I had my stuff and the money. But I only got $160.00. I had to make several purchases because I could only get $40.00 per purchase. I asked the guy to watch my stuff while I get $40 more, and he said are you gonna put it in the trunk? I said yes, and he said pop your trunk and I'll put it in for you. I thought these guys were really kool and nice. I went and got $40 more and gave it to him, I said "KARMA guys, Thanks, karma" and I shook both thier hands and they said yeah "KARMA" and laughed. I was trying to hook it up the next day and found out you need a receiver to use it. I decided to look up the company to ask a question. The website was small and they only showed a fax number. I thought that was strange. So I kept looking up sites. Then I found this one, read some of the other complaints and could not believe "I GOT SCAMMED" I thought I got such a great deal from some kool, nice guys. WRONG!!! Now I'm glad I told them "karma" because they WILL get their karma for ripping people off.
