Flameless Luminary complaint

I have a serious complaint. I am very upset as I drove 40 minutes away to the local store to buy a few of the Flameless Luminary candles I have heard everyone raving about. I was so excited to try them out I spend over 30$ buying two bases and 2 shades to go with them... Which is very pricey to me but I thought if they smelt good and were to last it was worth it. Well needless to say I am very unhappy. Neither of the bases work I have tryed putting in new battieries and everything you can imagine and they just do not work. They are defective in some way or another. The other thing I am upset about is that the shades I bought smell absolutely horrible!!! I purchased 2 of the cherry blossom whimsy shades and I feel like they should have had a scent sample or somethin because in my opinion they smell nothing like cherry blossoms. I tryed to return them and get the green tea shades and the store refused because they said that they were OPEN. Well ofcourse they were open, I had no way to smell them before I bought them!!! I apologize if I am sounding rude. But I am quite upset. I have been a happy customer of MANY febreze products for years and now that I finally try something new... I am left with 2 bases that don't work and shades that I cannot use either way. Please help me, as i am trying to reach corporate to get these problem resolved. Thank you.
