Dear Carmel,
I'm mad as hell and wanted to alert you to a situation that I am encountering regarding an adult web site located out of Miami that is preying on the gay community. I legally subscribed to an adult web site owned and operated by Flava Works, Inc, located out of Miami FL. I no longer subscribe to this site. On July 11, I received a certified letter stating that I was "pirating" content from their website for my "own personal financial benefit" I have not committed this violation and told them that they were mistaken and in error with this allegation. This came as a bit of a surprise, since I don't have a technical bone in my body and wouldn't have the first clue as to how to pirate anything.
They have continued to accuse me of this without offering any proof. They have repeatedly threatened me and bombarded me with letters asked for various amounts of money without offering any proof or record of these accusations. Most recently on November 8, I was served through their Chicago office. Several other names from all over the world were also listed on the document. My lawyer has repeatedly informed them via letter and email to leave me alone, but they have persisted. They have continued their harassment and extortion by demanding more money from me without any proof of my alleged wrong-doing. I have done nothing wrong. I am being harassed and am a victim of extortion. It is within my legal rights to subscribe to an adult website without the threat of harassment and extortion. I ask that you thoroughly look into this situation and let your viewers know about this company and their unethical practices. I think this would make a very interesting and informative case for you to investigate on WSVN Miami. I would be more than happy to send you all of the letters that I received from Flava Works.
