Upon balancing my Fathers checkbook with the statement, I found that the amounts did not match what was on the bank website. After a little looking, I came across a strange check number. The company? ProTek ID. Printed it out, and on the signature line it said "pre-authorized check. No signature required". Never signed up for any membership with this organization, pre-authorized anything, nor was there any notification received by mail, or otherwise.
I have been unable to get a response from them to clear up the matter, and I am now working on this with the check fraud division of the bank and with other authorities.
