I am a former employee of Robinsons May. When I started (oct 15) I was told I could use the employee discount even though I just started. I was turned down for a Robinsons May credit account but a pre-pay accout was opened for me. During the holidays I bought many gifts and utilized my employee discount. Then randomly one day I was told to come in the office. I entered a room to find our security manager and a security worker.
I was told that I had violated company policy by taking sample lipsticks, letting some one else use my employee discout and letting a co-worker return an item at our register. Mind you this all happene 10 DAYS before my probational period was up 10 DAYS. Now Robinsons may is charging me back all the employee discount I recieved when I was employed $245.00 because I signed a paper.
Yeah, I signed alot of things but this was brushed over because I don't recall. I feel this is not my fault. Our training was a joke, sit in a room and watch their videos the secretary coming in to switch the tapes. One day our human resource manager came in to talk to us a little. Why don't they hence this to employees. Why would I even risk using the discount at all during this period. Because I was poorly trained and informed I have to pay. Also what kills me is I didnt quite. They popped up one day and suspended me in january telling me to call in a couple of days to see if I could return to work.
This is outrageous whose to say they don't do this all the time. Hire people as full-time then right before their 3 month is up find some petty reasons to terminate employement to get out of having to pay benefits and get back discout used. If it was so serious why didnt they tell me back in november and december when it happened. Because they only needed me seasonally for the busy season. This has to happen all the time!!!
