Dear Mr. Anthony Scotto:

My daughter was married at Fox Hollow on July 16th (Nicole & Sam Chwe). Everything went well except that there was not adequate seating at the cocktail hour (which I cannot understand), and the return of personal property at the end of the wedding. I have made this known to the attention of Mr. Mike Tinelli.in regard to the personal property I had to contact Mr. Mile Tinelli many times since July 16th. He never returns your calls either, which is totally unprofessional. When I first called him he said there was a box of things of ours still there. They were the small floating candles, sand, and rocks left over from our center pieces. So we picked them up but there were other things still missing. We also had 4 pairs of new scissors missing needed to open the sand and rock bags. Apparently, my daughter and son-in-law were talking to someone at the front desk, when picking up the box, and one pair of scissors, still unopened, was in the draw. When I called him back to tell him what was still missing he said he had to check with staff when they come in on the weekend. Of course he never called me back. When I did call him back he accused my cousins of taking the items with them after helping to put the arrangements on the tables. This is also totally unprofessional. Then on another occasion he said well may be someone left a box by the car while they were leaving after the wedding. That would be on their property so wouldn’t have someone from Fox Hollow notice it. But that was not the case either because everything they were giving back to us was put on the rolling cart they supplied us with and my husband put everything in his van. How dare he make these accusations? Apparently, he and his staff did not do their jobs! He then says oh that is why we don’t want anyone to put things on the table except for the florist. No one ever said that to us when we were signing the contract. Besides the groom is allergic to flowers so that is why we had floating candles.

What I don’t understand is why Mr. Tinelli wrote up an inventory list of all the things we gave them, the Wednesday before the wedding, and said that whatever they do not use will be returned to us. He said not to worry he will personally make sure everything will be return to us. What is the purpose of an inventory list if your property is not returned? I have to say he did help fill up the water pitchers so we could fill in floating candle bowls on the tables, but he has done nothing else. When all was done he had told my cousins who helped me to put the arrangement on the tables, don’t worry I will make sure everything is put away that is left over and given to the bride at the end of the night, as they were finishing.in fact if you look at the reviews on this site http://www.weddingwire.com/reviews/fox-hollow-restaurant-catering-hotel-woodbury/2adb53539455f53d.html, I am not the only one who had a problem with Mike Tinelli. He seemed to be a very nice person until you have a problem. I should not be treated like this. This should have been taken care of immediately. Further, he contradicts himself, especially when he said perhaps my cousins took the items missing when they finished placing them on the tables. He was in the reception hall with them when they were done decorating the tables with the floating candles; so how can he say perhaps they took the items when they were done, if he in fact said he would make sure everything would be away and given to the bride at the end of the night.

Property missing is 4 center floating candle bowls, 2 center tall floating glass candle holders, 8 big long candles, 4 pairs of scissors. He said he would send me a check of $65 for these items on August 9th. Of course he said he would have to verify this with his boss and of course I had to call him back again. However, this does not cover the cost of these items. The bowls were $15 each ($60) and the tall glass candle holders were $15 ($30) each the scissors were $5.00 each ($20) and the candles were $2 each ($16) plus the tax of $10.90 totaling $136.90 for the items plus the aggravation, insults against my cousins and family members about walking out with the items and numerous phone calls he has put me through.

Most reputable places would have cut a generous check immediately and apologized for the misplacement of the items and not squabble about each individual amount and blaming that others walked out with them. I told Mr. Tinelli that the tall candle holders were promised to Nicole’s mother in law and my mother in law. But now I look like an idiot because I have none to give them. That puts my daughter and I in an awkward position.

One other thing, if I had not been in the reception room before hand we would not have had the chair covers since Mr. Tinelli thought we said we didn’t want them. Did he not check the contract before hand? Of course it would have been too late once the guests were in the room.

I would like an apology from Mr. Tinelli and a check that covers the money for the missing items. It would be nice to make that check for 10 % of what the wedding cost since I was totally aggravated by Mr. Tinelli actions and/or non actions to take care of this matter and my time. Also, I had to stand the entire time at the cocktail hour and had hardly any of the food until the last 10 minutes of the affair. It is such a shame that an almost perfect wedding rating is ruined by such a low scheming person. Does he not realize he (Mike Tinelli) represents a corporate image and he should please the clients in any way he can for future recommendations. I hope you or someone will contact me ASAP regarding this letter.

Sincerely

Susan Jesnes
