The apartment complex scamed my 60 yr old mother into giving them $300.00 to hold a unit for her till October. (Note: that the deposit was only $200) They said that it was an extra holding fee due to it being held for 30 days. They didnt ask her to sign a contract or anything her name was on Nothing. Then when she turned around the next morning less than 24 hrs later she asked for a refund and they denied her and when she said she was going to move to section 8 they then denied her to even rent the unit she paid for. They claim that the deposit is non-refundable but yet they never mentioned it before. They said the rent and pet fees wasnt but thats understandable. I just want everyone to be aware of there scams. Please all elderly people watch out for them. This is unethical and wrong. Thanks for reading.
