I was searching online for a peer support group in Calgary, AB and found the Depression and Anxiety Peer Support Group at http://daaps. Webs.com. The group is run by a person who calls himself Dr. Alan Eastman. When I looked into his credentials I discovered that he is a phony, with degrees from 'degree mills', or unaccredited and disreputable organizations that offer basically fake degrees for money. He runs a bunch of different websites that offer counselling and training in hypnotherapy. He also claims to be a professor at Breyer State University, which is another unaccredited organization. Tellingly, his name doesn't even appear in the list of faculty at Breyer State's website.in Alberta, where Mr. Eastman is runnig his scam, it is illegal to use the titles 'Psychologist' and 'Doctor' unless you are registered with the relevant colleges, which Eastman is definitely not (I checked). This guy is a scam artist who is taking advantage of people who are looking for a trustworthy, caring person to help them. That's what really bothers me.
