Huge waste of time. I received an e-mail from someone named "Darren Fittingham", stating the following:
'We would like to thank you for sending your resume to Pearson Recruitment & Partners. After reviewing your initial credentials, I think you could possibly be a great fit for our company.
Our Human Resource manager would like to schedule an interview with you before she leaves for vacation early next week. You need to complete the pre-interview screening before we can schedule an interview, which can be found at http://pearsonjobs.info or the career link on our homepage. Your applicant code is 751601.
Please write down your code, as that is the only way you can gain access to your application and employee profile. Once you complete your screening someone from HR will contact you within 72 hours to schedule an interview.'
Notice the urgency as the HR Manager was "leaving for vacation" really soon. And when I clicked the link, it brought me to a questionnaire about my experience and work ethics. No big deal. I know you gotta screen people these days. But then when it said, if you are reading this screen then you are one of the top 5 candidates for the job, I thought, "Yeah right." And when the final link brought me to a credit score page, which DOES appear legitimate (but who knows?) and prompted me for my SSN and my credit card information, I was like, "No way." I wrote back to this guy and wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt and said he'd need to find a way around this.
I know a bad credit score can prevent a person from being hired, but a credit report is usually generated AFTER the person's been interviewed and actually knows what company and position is even in question. Total scam. And I wasted a lot of time filling that questionnaire out.
