I was first contacted via email from a man named Daniel S. Lynch [email protected] for a work at home opportunity for a company he said he represented called Roche, Inc. Said he was in their human resources department. This was because I posted my resume on www.dice.com and that I am set up for interview with the "hiring manager" of the company. Her name is Kim Cummings email kim. [email protected] and that I would have to do the interview via IM on yahoo. They said they had openings for data entry, admin asst. Receptionist, front desk, acct. Ap/ar, medical billing and that compensation was $20 per hour after training. Part time 9-2pm or Full time 8-5, including full benefits. I asked if they do a background check as I am having issues getting a real job, because I unfortunately have a blemish on my. They said ok, no problem they don't do background checks of any kind. Then she said that Roche was opening a new office in the Denver area and that I would first work from home doing data entry etc. I told her my home computer doesn't have the compatible Microsoft office programs and I don't have a land line. She said they will overnite a check in some amount via FedEx so that I may buy the laptop materials and to hook up a land line. I said ok... Well, she interviewed by IM and asked if I could do some "task" for her and list job postings on Craigslist for her and she would give me all the information and also the credit card info and name of contact etc. I did that for her. Then she needed me to do it more the next day, and I stated I work part time and can not do it on company time. She said ok. So I got home and she then wasn't available, till next day during the hours I work, I said I can't do that while I am still going to be at work. She gave me full description of the job and what I would be doing. Well, 2 days later, she said instead of the work at home she wanted me to do AP/AR and started to tell me what that entailed, which would be me physically going to Money Gram and Western Union branches, she would have money wired to me in my name in any amount, I was to keep 10% of the total which would be my pay, then I would subtract the charge for resending it to individuals around the world, and that this was a full time position. That's when the big Red Flag came up and I asked alot of questions and said I needed to think about that and would get back to her, next day I started investigating and found these 2 individuals do not work for the company Roche, Inc. At all and they have never heard of them, I asked a couple friends if they heard of such a thing and they said Scam, Illegal, Money Laundering Operation. I went back to Kim and said, I wasn't interested, I wanted to work from home, she said ok, but in order for me to do that, she would then have to have a CC# or bank acct info to transfer funds to for me to purchase the materials. Well, end of story, I wrote her back and said no this is illegal operations and with my blemish on my background just getting done with parole, I am trying to find a legitimate company to work for and am a christian woman trying to go forward in a different direction and told her I would turn her in to the proper authorities. Copied all corespondences, printed them and forwarded to the Attorney Generals office here in Denver, I then asked her where she was located she said in WI. But the company Roche, Inc is physically located in that state. So she could be from anywhere for all I know. She is still actively online on yahoo. I wrote this Daniel person as well, but have not heard from him. Needless to say, they didn't get any personal info from me. But I am a desperate person trying to find a real job, I almost fell into this. I am older, thank God wiser than I could have been. Thank you for listening.
