Omar Ricardo Delgado, aka Ricky Delgado, failed to support his minor child for 14.5 years. For around 11 years of that time, he evaded his court ordered responsibility to support his son. He willfully and maliciously failed to insure that his child's needs were met. Ricky Delgado was aware of the court order although he failed repeatedly to appear for the hearings. He moved from state to state in attempts to elude his responsibility.
In 1999, Ricky Delgado attempted to make amends with his son. Committing to pay the trip cost for his son to visit him in North Carolina, Mr Delgado convinced the mother to bring the child who he had abandoned for over eight (8) years. Ricky Delgado has failed to reimburse the mother for this trip, finding that a tattoo purchase was more appropriate than meeting his commitment. Also, at the time, he committed to step up and be a man, taking care of his responsibility. He failed to do so.instead, this sperm donor failed to pay his child support and got another person pregnant with his 6th (some say 8th) child.in November Child Support enforcement caught up to Ricky Delgado and scheduled a hearing. He failed to show at the hearing. Another hearing was scheduled for December. He appeared and was ordered to support his child.
To date, Ricky Delgado, although qualifying as a criminal under the Deadbeat Parent's punishment act, has never been charged with abandonment, willful nonsupport of a minor child, contempt of court. Ricky Delgado has not has his license suspended or passport revoked as is available by law. The courts have done nothing to see that justice was served. Ricky Delgado has done nothing to see that his son had food, shelter, clothing or care.
