David J Sockol, a well-known St. Petersburg lawyer and restaurant owner was arrested early Friday morning on charges of driving under the influence and cocaine possession. David J. Sockol, 50, was arrested about 12:30 A.M.in the 4700 block of Gulf Boulevard in St. Pete Beach at a DUI checkpoint. An officer noted the odor of alcohol on Sockol's breath, bloodshot eyes and poor balance, an arrest report says. The officer also found cocaine in two plastic bags in Sockol's wallet, the report says. Sockol was released from the Pinellas County Jail Friday morning on $2,500 bail.
