10 Seniors Cheated out of Post Prom

My son and 9 other students were told they could pay for their post prom on Fri May 6th. I went to the school and paid the $170 for his prom, and the $170 for his post prom, a total of 340 for his prom events. Today I went up to turn in the permission slip and was told that Tyler and the other 9 students would be given a refund for the cost of the post prom because the buses transporting the seniors to the post prom were full.

The post prom is being held at Kalahari water park in Ohio. It is a 3.5 hour drive from Uniontown. When I first complained to the administration building I was told by their secretary that they could drive. Well I was not happy with that because after having prom on Fri and post prom all day Sat really did not like two teens driving back from Ohio at 2 am for a 3.5 hour drive. But if they had to follow the bus so they could attend the post prom. Well then I guess that was our only solution. But when I then spoke with Liz the secretary at the high school again she said the school did not want the students to drive and if they did they would have to obtain their own tickets and could not be considered part of the group.

I feel this is because they to know it's to dangerous and don't want to be liable if they have a accident. She also then informed me that it they had originally obtained 4 buses to accommodate all the seniors but then thought they didn't need the 4th bus and cancelled it and now do not feel they should get the 4 th bus for just 10 seniors. I was furious, I said why would you not make sure you have enough seats for all of them? You know how many seniors there are. And sell the rest tickets so they would go buy attire they will need to go. Then tell them they can't go. I even called that day to ask if we could still purchase the tickets she said yes. She then said it was her mistake that she did not know that the prom ticket sell was extended and not the post prom tickets and sold the tickets to the 10 students. So now they are saying those 10 students who they sold the tickets to and went and bought what was needed for the prom and post prom will not be permitted to go to the post prom.

They have to miss one of the most important events of their school years due to the wealthiest school district in Fayette county being to stingy to then purchase the rental of the 4th bus needed to accommodate all the seniors who they sold the tickets to. When they had already once made arrangements to get 4 buses knowing thats what was necessary. I think it is unfair to the 10 students to be excluded from their one and only post prom for this reason.

Thank you, Shryl Martinmy seniors name is Tyler Johnson.
