I have a complaint about a McDonald's restaurant at Nantan Si Rd.in TanZhou, Zhongshau City, Guangdong province, China. I visited the restaurant at around 3:00 P.M. Today and ordered two combo meals for me and my wife. However, I found the coke smelt like household detergents. At first, I felt I might be wrong and might have confuse my smelling sense with other smells. Then I asked my wife to smell the coke we had. She drank a little of the coke in question and the taste / smell was exactly like detergent. I am enjoying McDonald's in many parts of the world, never in my life have tasted a coke drink like detergent. Then my wife and me were so confused and asked for the manager in charge, who is about 25 years old girl in manager's uniform. I explained my concerns and she replied that the restaurant knew the matter for 2 days. She insisted on the detergent taste and smell was coming from the water-supply company. It relates to the water purifier in the restaurant cannot remove the detergent-like materials coming from the local water company. She further explained McDonald's uses the local water to mix the coke we drank. To my big surprise, there was no warning or advice about the problematic coke in the restaurant. I believe McDonald's standing for good quality. I am very disappointed. The manager at that McDonald's did not seem to be surprised when I made the complaint. I told my wife: What about the health of those young kids and elderly? Could any one imagine coke from McDonald’s tasting like detergent?
