Mr. Byrns is quite a character. My company provides IT services for many small business on Long Island.in our 3 years of operation, Mr Byrns will be the first to refuse payment.
It all started 10-21 when we got a call from one of our loyal customers who said someone "Down the hall" was having "serious issues" and needed help "ASAP". Right away we called Mr Byrns and scheduled an appointment for 1 hour later. At the end of our appointment, hands were shaken, compliments exchanged, all was well. Since James is in the same office building as both my company and our loyal client we weren't too rushed to give him an invoice. After all, my technician did leave another job to solve his problem as it was an emergency.
Since the 21st was a Thursday and the next day Friday an invoice for $86.90 was delivered. Mr James said "I'll bring in a laptop for you to work on next week, we'll settle up then." Monday came and went, so did Wednesday Thursday and finally the next Friday! When approached that Friday James had "forgotten about it". OK, we said, see you next week.
Now comes a loooooong cat and mouse game where James is never in his office, never near his phone, and never to be seen for 3 months. Then poof! He's back, "Hey, Laptop, TOMORROW!" he says...
A week goes by, no laptop, no payment on the original invoice. When finally caught and cornered in his office 2 weeks later Mr Byns says "I don't have a credit card" and insists he will leave a check with the buildings receptionist. No check was ever left.
No laptop has been serviced. Our $86.80 bill ever paid.
You would think someone titled the "Vice President" of an investment house would surely have a credit card and pay his bills? And to think, Mr James P. Byrns works for a company such as JP. Turner which helps people invest their wealth would SURELY be trustworthy to pay a $87 debt.
This is not the case.
