A week ago Saturday I brought our vacuum into this store forrepairs. Thursday, Paul called me to say the motor had seized. I wasn't able to hear all the particulars because I was at work. Saturday, the 12th, my husband and I came into the store to hear what he had to say and make a decision about either repairing our machine or getting another one. He convinced us to purchase a new vacuum, a Panasonic Evolution, telling us it was the same machine as my Kenmore that I loved. I have an identical vacuum at home. I had not come prepared to write a check for $170; I needed to transfer money from another bank to cover the check that they agreed to hold until closing on Monday. This morning, I vacuumed the house and discovered that he had liedto me about this vacuum. It WAS NOT the same machine. It didn't have an automatic release from the tube to the beater bar, didn't have a quick on/off switch on the handle, the hose was stiff, and the cord was about half the length. I called to tell him we would be bringing it back this morning and he said they absolutely do not give refunds. I don't want this vacuum. He lied about it and I'd have never bought it if I'd have known it's inadequacies. We told him we would not have funds available in the account until the afternoon but I'm quite certain he's going to try to cash the check in the morning anyway. I have already placed a stop-payment on the check. I want to give this one back to him, I wantmy check back, and I want my vacuum back.
