In this town I've learned there are some crooks to watch out for but this one takes the cake! As a young comedienne developing on stage at a local open mic, I was quickly approached by Amy Cheapo, who under the guise of a "talent scout" (complete fabrication), told me she could book me on a large paid gig at a prestigious comedy club, whom I will not name, and I would be showcasing for Comedy Central. The show is called The Crazee Cindy Show. The only catch was I would have to bring 15 friends. I was told I would be paid $2 per person and given stage time. For the next week I was practically harassed by Amy and a woman named “Crazee Cindy” to get people to come to the show which should have been the first sign that I was being hustled. The show was scheduled to start at 7pm and did not actually get started until 8:30. After waiting nearly 3 hours and getting bumped by supposed “head liner guests” (these we're Cindy's friends, nowhere in the realm of headliner) the show ended and I did not get to perform and I DID NOT GET PAID.
