I placed an add on craigslist to sell a piece of equiptment. Was contacted by Travis Lawson, email address matt1975999 wantin to purchase the item. He wanted to know if the item was still for sale. Responded yes.
Travis then responded saying he was okay with the price listed and for me to send him my name, address, and phone number and that he would send a cashier check from his bank to me through a reputable courrier for the cover of the cost within 2 - 3 days. He also requested for me to kindly delete my post because he was seriuos and he wanted my honesty because he is a GOD fearing person. He also said he would be using movers topickup theitem on his behalfbecause he was out of the area for acontracting job. Once the check cleared of course.
I responded back to him that I would need to talk to him, thought something was fishy since he asked no questions about the item or to negotiate the asking price, for him to give me his phone number.
He then stated that he was in a remote area inSouth Dakota unable to call or receive callsand that I need to send him my info asap so he could process the check.
After googling his email address I seen it was associated with a scam which led me to this site. I kindly emailed him back and told him I was no longer interested in doing business with him. He has not responded back since.
It's a shame you can't trust anyone anymore.
