Im one of the ones that got scammed by tws (tulsa welding school), and their commercials in 2001. I was promised they would help with housing, a job when i graduated and that i would make thousands a month, when i graduated i received a help wanted list, that was their way of helping me get a job. They never helped with housing i received a pamphlet from a apartment locator that the school used, and that was it. Now to the money they promised and ran in their commercials, what a joke. 90% of the jobs wouldnt even give u a weld test when they found out that u was from tws.
The commercials continued to run using my class as its new ad, about how 96% of us was making over $3000 a wk, working pipelines and oil fields. After contacting most of my class i found that less than 20% was even in the welding industry anymore, because they couldnt find welding jobs.
I often wonder how someone WITHOUT A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED GETS 2 FED. STUDENT LOANS!!! The school only had 3 commodes for 120 studentsand when someone complained bout it they was made to shut up by threat of expulsion.
The training there was sub par, people left there with out a clue of complete welding principles, standards and ability
