On Sep 10 I hired the attorney Kelly Gamble for an annulment. She verbally agreeded tht charges wontnt exceed $1,500 if case was uncontested. I assured her it would DEFINATLY NOT be contested. I paid the $1500 retainer after consultation. She typed up a letter had him served which because I am low income I signed a fee waiver and was granted it, therefore the service of the documents to my husband was free. She continued to charge me excessive fees for ph calls, letters and email. I explained to her tht I had a prior order of support for the first divorce. Kthis is the second remarriage to each other) I told her no worries bececause we had our own agreement. Even tho it is an annulment and that renders this marrige non existent if granted, I still have the spousal support on reserve from first marriage. I could have had her admend this annulment to include the original order of support but since we are cordial to each other and he agrees the marriage failed due to his neglect, he would gladly agree to a PERSONAL agreement amoung him and I. She admitted it would be cheaper if we had our own agreement. But out of COURIOUSITY she wanted to see the first order. I gave her a copy and she charged me over $200 to not only review this document but to mail it back. It wasn't necessarry for her to see this document but I feel she wanted to see it for the purpose of charging me more money. Phone calls, letters mailed, emails she read was billed to me for an exorbant price. I then get a letter where she was requesting another $700 for a retainer. The$1500 turned into $2600 and then she wanted another $700 more. I finally got feed up so I asked her when is my court date to finalize this annulment. No answer. I called, left msgs, sent emails, once again no answer. I finally get a call from her secretary Marisol, saying she could meet with me but I refused because I had fear of more excessive charges. I told secretary for her to respond to my via email. No answer. I call the courthouse since she isn't answering my questions as far as a court date is concerned. Court official looked up case and said only fee waiver filed and limilted scope and maybe one more letter but she has not requested any court date. I talked to a document preparer and a paralegal and they looked up the case and they both agreeded it was an excessive amount of money charged for such little work. I am disabled and I think she is using that for her advantage trying to scam me. She doesn't realize that even tho I am disabled I am fully aware of what she is doing. Please help me resolve this issue. I have reached my max limit on my card tht I can afford. She is requesting over $3000 for a minimal amount of work. Thank you Mr. Finney
