Got a call on 7/29/10 from Jordan Marcus of East Coast Financing Corporation. Claimed to be a mortgage lender, who did a small amount of timeshare selling business, mostly to corporations.in collecting info from resellers, they found my timeshare. Had a buyer, with closing scheduled at 4pm. (They claimed they hadn't been able to reach me prior to then because the reseller had refused to give them any information.)
Because of the time involved, they wanted $599 sent to them via "Money in Minutes" from Western Union. The $599 was to pay for lawyer fees. I agreed to call them today.
Phone number 561-667-8063 is no longer being answered.instead, it rolls over to a computer voice saying that the mailbox is full. No company greeting, no explanation. Emails to Jordan Marcus have gone unanswered.
Avoid the following like the plague:
Jordan Marcus
Jonathan Matthews (the theoretical lawyer who wanted the $599)
East Coast Financing Corporation, East Coast Financial Corporation
Phone: 561-667-8063
Email: jmarcus. [email protected]
If this is the original East Coast Financial, they've changed scams and have a good lie down pat.
