Canceling Trip

We booked a trip with Priceline for October. My husband had major surgery & our out of pocket expenses were much more than we anticipated so we wanted to cancel the trip. We were told that neither the airline or hotel can be canceled. We expalined the situation to numerous people at Priceline including supervisors & tried to get them to do the right thing especially since the trip is almost 90 days away. The only thing they would offer is to change the trip but it would cost us even more because of change fees. Not sure why they thought if we are having problems paying medical bills that we could leave our moeny with them, cancel the trip & then pay them change fees. They are all heart, huh. We finally contacted both the airlines & hotel directly, explained our circumstances & they both agreed we could cancel but we have to go to Priceline for our refund & Pricline refuses to refund our money. I have never been so put out with a company before, they are selfish, greedy & have no empathy whatsoever for people who encounter financial probelms, they only want their money. I will try everything I can to egt my money back from Priceline. I am going to write a dispute to my credit card company explaining what took place & letting them know Pricline refuses to refund our money even though the airline & hotel have agreed to. Any other suggestions? I will not stop until I get my money back from Priceline.
