Idiculous policy - flooring

I was prepared to purchase about $5000 in flooring this past Sunday at the HD on Argentia in Mississauga, Ont. It was the last day of your 10% off all flooring sale and I was in need of 65 boxes of Trillium Engineered hardwood flooring. I was advised by the sales clerk [who I took about 20 mins to track down] that there wasn't enough inventory at the store. She proceeded to call the Queensway location as they showed enough stock. After about 30 mins of her trying to get someone at the Queensway store to talk to her, she told me that I could not actually pay for the flooring at the Argentia location because the product was coming from Etobicoke. I had no intention of driving to Etobicoke and no intention of proving credit card info over the phone. What a ridiculous policy - what's the difference if I buy it in Missisauga, Etobicoke or Timbuktu? It's the same company, same store, same everything, just physically in a different location. Please educate me on this - I'm clearly confused.

In addition, once a flooring rep was contacted at the Queensway store, he advised that he only had about 50 boxes of the flooring, not the 124 that the system showed. He was going to check and call me back. I never received a call and if he did call, he didn't leave a message. Unreal!

So I don't have my flooring, I missed out on the sale because as the first rep I spoke to mentioned, they won't honour it after the sale date ends even though I was clearly interested in buying the floor, they decided to blow the sale.

No idea how HD stays in business.
