MidWestern Builders completed repair work in my bathroom February. I can be certain that at least once a month we would contact the new sales manager and let him know the issues we we're having. (Cracked bathroom tile, caulking coming off. 1/4 gap between the bathtub) Mid-Western Builders would send a contracter to repair the work, maybe 2 weeks after we consistently called.
The tile would always crack and the caulking would peel. He would not comment on the cracked tile in the closet. Advoiding the issue. Bob Nichols (the sales manager) accused our child of peeling the caulking, which is not the case. The tile has a 1/4 inch gap that is causing the caulk to peel. The only reason we contracted this repair was to fix the gap. August 14 we contacted Mid-Western builders and informed them of the cracking on the tub (again) Bob Nichols said he would schedule a contracter next week.
August 27, I did not hear from the company and called to see the delay. (as we have had to do in the past) The owner Jerry Meinert got on the phone and repeated to say "we fufilled our obligation" repeating this phrase over and over again. When I stated I purchased this work with a three year warranty and the problem has never been corrected. He began to call me "Slick" repeatedly and said he would not send out a contractor to repair unless we pay him extra money.
Then Jerry hung up on me. I called back and he hung up again. I feel that I have been had. The work I was promised was never complete. I never made an issue about the shotty bathroom tile or the sub floor that was promised and never installed. The company modo" We offer an honest appraisal of a remoldeling project at a fair price consistent with the work performed. Our customers can expect quality a quality and professional job with a solid warranty to back it up" I believe it not to be true.
I am disgusted with there customer service and their work performed. I have brought this issue up to Better Business Bureau two times. The most recent complaint was August 28. With a promise I would have a resolution in 3 weeks. We are now on our 5th week and I have heard nothing. BBB is sponsored by Midwestern builders and when I contacted the BBB they informed me they play no preferences to a company.
They stated MidWesten Builders is running behing and will reply soon. Huh. I wish for a full refund. Jerry Meinert will not return my calls.-BM
