I attended a speed-dating session with NY Minute Dating in early January. I discovered that they had erroneously charged my credit card twice, so I contacted the company via their Web site's contact formthe only way to contact the company, as they provide neither a phone number nor address. A manager named Rich told me he'd take care of it.
Nearly two months later I have yet to be reimbursed for the second charge, despite repeated emails to Rich. He has since stopped replying to me altogether. They still have the gall, however, to keep sending me their promotional emails for dating events.
Given the number of speed dating service in NYC, I would strongly urge others to seek out another besides NY Minute Dating. Not only do I feel scammed, the event I attended in January was disappointing. The man to woman ratio was uneven: NY Minute Dating accepted too many guys, so at one point I was forced to sit out several rotations—it amounted to 30 minutes of down time.
There are likely better organized dating services out there, with managers who actually care about customer service and the quality of their product. I recommend trying one of them.
