Christian Brothers Automotive
Stay as far away from this company as possible!

We are a military family and transfer to a new state (or country) every three to four years. Unfortunately, we do stay in one place long enough to become familiar with who the "good" mechanics are, and who are the ones you need to avoid. To all military personnel... CHRISTIAN BROTHERS IS ONE OF THE REPAIR COMPANIES TO AVOID!!!

In Feb I brought both my Dodge Durango and my Nissan Maxima in for routine maintenance. Both are high mileage vehicles, and we annually take them in for service so that we don't need to replace them. The Dodge had developed a oil disappearance issue. It wasn't leaking, and it wasn't smoking. Christian Brothers could not find the source of the problem. The Dodge also had a small power steering leak, for which Christian Brothers advised replaced the rack and pinion steering. It would also overheat when idling, Christian Brothers thought that it might have a cracked head, and I decided not to have any further repairs done. Additional services performed included brakes and flushing the brake system. Total repairs for the Durango were in the neighborhood of $1500.

The Maxima needed regular service, oil change, etc, and had vibration in the right front when braking from high speeds but not low speeds. It had already had new rotors and brakes put on, but still had the vibrations. Christian Brothers recommended replacing both CV axels. Total service on the Maxima was also around $1500.

Less than a month later, the Maxima had a blown tire, the rim had also been damaged. We had the vehicle towed to Christian Brothers, and this time they found that the car had a bent strut! The car had been in a accident four years prior, the strut appeared to be original equipment that the body shop failed to replace four years earlier. Replacing the strut completely eliminated the front end vibration, and was the first time I questioned why they hadn't found that earlier when they were replacing the CV axels? Why when changing a tire was this discovered?

The Dodge continued to leak oil and power steering fluid, and it continued to overheat when idling. I decided to sell the Dodge and get a new car. My father, who lived out of state, decided he wanted to purchase the Dodge. He took it back to my hometown, to the loyal HONEST mechanic that I had grown up with, and for less than $300 had all the problems fixed. The oil and power steering leaks were both fixed by replacing the pumps. The overheat was being caused by the failure of the auxillary fan starting when necessary, this was due to a blown fuse.

Christian Brothers has several religious symbols displayed throughout the waiting area, they quote the bible in their Mission Statement on their website, the service writers will tell you about their work as youth pastors, they are professionals at giving a false sense of security based on religious values, morals and ethics. How could someone doing God's work deceive another man? I will not assume that they are not faithful, however, the pretense of being good Christians is nothing more than a greedy, deceptive act to get your money.

They are some of the lowest form of scammers.

Isaiah 56:11 (King James Version)

11Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.
