Curb Stoning, Pay Cash, Go Out The Door & We Wash Our Hands Of You. Falsify Documents, Hear No Evil, See No Evil & Speak No Evil 3 for 3! Bingo! Wrong! Misleading Statements and The Beat Goes On!

I recently had a less than honest and ethical experience with Hyundai of Texoma, Sherman TX. Looked for inexpensive used car in Democrat Herald newspaper of Sherman TX Located a Volvo station wagon at Bonham Motors Cash Corral, Bonham TX Clicked link & provided my information & in need of vehicle Received email from Internet Sales Managaer, Hyundai of Texoma, Sherman TX to call and speak with Internet Salesman Called Salesman and made appointment to come to dealership. We met for a few minutes but he was busy doing something else so handed me over to Internet Sales Manager. My perception: neither really wanted to work with me, I wanted a used vehicle at approximately $1500. The Internet Sales Manger kept pushing me to get more cash so he could get me a better vehicle. I explained I could go to $1600 and that was it plus I wanted that to include tags and license. I was told Volvo sold No offer to see about getting a little bit of financing so I could get a better car. During conversation with Sales Manager, he was shocked to learn I had a job. Was the thought I didnt have a job his lack of enthusiasm to help me? A 1993 Saturn with 175K miles was brought to front of dealership. It was explained this was the best he could do. I know car dealers have discretion to lower a cars price but not for me. Drove car appeared to be okay with realization it would be AS IS. Checked the head and taillights of the car. The Sales Manager tinkered with fan and he told me most likely it would work once the car was moving a long the highway. No air was coming through the vents either I was escorted to Finance where I handed over my $1600 cash. My drivers license is from Oklahoma, as I had not had a chance to get a Texas drivers license. I was told they would put down my previous Oklahoma address and have that also put on the Title. It was explained that I should go back into Oklahoma and the car licensed there, as it would be cheaper. I was getting perplexed, asked questions but they were not answered with full disclosure that I was actually the one paying for tags & license. If I went to Oklahoma for the tags & license I would then have to turn around and get tags in Texaswhere is said savings? I know my address and phone number here in Texas could have been put on the paperwork but a lazy way was taken. The Internet Sales Manager kept reminding me that the Saturn was AS IS. I said yes I know that but I need to have a car that is safe at least. Oh yes its safe to drive. After the third day of driving the car, I called the Sales Manager to let him know that there was a burning smell in the trunk of the car. His response was to blow me off, tell me to bring the car in and the service personnel would look at it but I would have to pay labor costs etc. Told him not an option and that he had gotten rid of an unsafe car, which was not only a hazard to me, but to anyone else I might have an accident with. I then proceeded to hang up on him. I received a call from the Internet Sales Manager to come in and pick up the title for the Saturn. As I was waiting for someone to bring the title etc to me, from across the dealership, I heard a salesman ask why was the Saturn back? From my vantage point across the dealership, I raised my hand and voice and said I was the sucker who purchased the car. This was a different salesman. He and I walked toward each other after I received the paperwork and I proceeded to nicely give him an earful of frustration with unethical business practice by the two internet sales people and the Dealership. We walked to the car so he could look in the trunk to see where the burning smell was coming from. He found that the trunk light appeared to have joggled lose and had stuck to a plastic sack while I was moving. Kody put the light bulb back in its place but I still have a burning smell in the trunk The salesman asked me if he could see about getting me into a better vehicle using in-house financing. I told him sure but my credit is in the middle of the earth due to some life circumstances that have been less than exemplary. I went back to the dealership. The salesman took the car to see what trade-in allowance they would give me&$500. What a joke! Two weeks prior they were trying to get more money out of me and I left them $1600. Kody then said I would need an additional $800 dollars plus the $500 trade-in to get in-house financing. I told him no way! I wasnt going to waste more money at Hyundai of Texoma. The salesman and I were talking about finances etc and he told me that he had had a $150K but lost it and was now working at the dealership for the past few years. When I went back in to see how he could help me, he then told me he had been working at the dealership since he was 18! I know Im only a woman but I do have a few brain cells left at this point in my life. I moved to Oklahoma in December from Seattle Washington where I had lived for 38 years. My former husband and I had purchased a Hyundai Santa Fe and Elantra from Hyundai of Renton several years ago. I really wanted a Tucson so back to Hyundai of Renton where they gladly took back the Elantra and put me in a Tucson. I loved my Tucson! Best vehicle I have ever owned. We then get into life circumstances.in the meanwhile, I referred three people to Hyundai of Renton who all purchased Santa Fes. Another friend purchased a used Kia Spectra. Needless to say, we were treated very well. Our finance person and then salesman is now the Sales Manager Lithia Dodge in Renton Washington I had mentioned this to the Internet Sales Manager about our purchase of Hyundai vehicles and referrals who purchased Santa Fe's but he blew me off. My nephew works at Hyundai in Montgomery Alabama so I guess you could say Hyundai is our familys choice of vehicle. The in house salesman did tell me that it appeared the Saturn was sold to me as parts and not as working vehicle. As I was reviewing the Certificate of Title, the Title was still under the name of the man who traded/sold the car to Hyundai of Texoma. The dealership never had the Title transferred into their name. Signature on the back had the original owner, scrawl of Hyundai of Texoma on it and then my name with Oklahoma address. The purchase agreement shows that I was the initial buyer and a co-buyer signature of the Internet Salesman as co-buyer is on the agreement with the Internet Sales Manager signing as the salesperson. I gave all the monies to the dealership. The Internet Salesman had nothing to do with providing any money for the purchase of the vehicle. Could this possibly be the sale for parts undercover. There are two codes on the back of the purchase agreement 173 & 132. Im not sure if these codes are employee ID numbers or parts numbers. Since it appears the Internet Salesman was the co-buyer of the Saturn he might like to provide me with $800 dollars cash The only information that holds any credence is the odometer reading of 175691 My reasoning for stating, possible curb stoning is a final sentence given in the definition for curb stoning. It reads, Be suspicious if the sellers name is different from the name on the title. If I had seen the title prior to purchase, my red flags and horns would have gone off. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. I received a response from Hyundai of Texoma that states they did everything they could to satisfy my by doing several small services without my paying for them. I did pay for parts but not labor plus I never requested any small services be provided.in my complaint I want to return the Saturn and have my $1600 refunded. Their response states its after 60 days so cannot return the car but they are willing to give me $1600 trade-in value toward another car. This is not acceptable. I do not want to do business with them. Just refund my money and take this parts car back. At this point, I would like to receive my $1600 back and give the parts car back to Hyundai of Texoma. I can then take my $1600 to one of two sales lots that have been working to assist me in getting a used car that will be safe, have air conditioning and heat.
