HP HP - Extremely Poor Laptops. Do not buy!

OK, so less than a year ago I bought an HP Pavilion Laptop despite other peoples recommendations to buy Mac or another brand. I was looking for a computer that can be used while I travel on business, see I'm a small business owner and having a dependable computer when I travel is vital to my continued success. I decided to purchase this computer from a local retailer and for the first month it was great. The problems started about 3 months after I purchased the computer, the first sign was about 3 keys on my laptop keyboard began coming off. This was shocking I never owned a laptop before but of course I knew this wasn't common. Within a week after this had happened my laptop just stopped working, the screen went blank, and it would turn on it wouldn't do anything. Now when I first purchased the laptop I purchased all the necessary software I needed to do my job plus additional security software to protect my equipment so I never expected to have any major problems. Now having the laptop for 3 months I had become accustomed to working on it every day and it had become a very important tool with extremely important information on the hard drive. I decided to immediately call HP and demand a better machine or some kind of service. When I called HP after being transfer around I finally talk to a Return Specialist who figured that the Modem was gone and assured me that they would also replace all the keys. I was pleased that they were going to take of this what I wasnt pleased about was that the laptop's modem was going to be replaces so all my work and software was going to be deleted. Also on top of this the computer was going to be gone for 3 weeks. I was very upset, but with HP not offered any other option I was forced to comply. 3-4 weeks went by and my laptop was returned in working condition, I had to replace all the software and reduce any lost work. OK, so now I was accustomed to working on my Desk tops and really had lost trust in the laptop. I now only used this computer for necessary situation like traveling or working out of office. About 1-2 months after my computer returned guess what, the damn keys fell off again, but not all 3 just a couple. After this had happened I didnt want to send my laptop back to the help desk for another 3 weeks because I had business trips coming up I figured I would just have it fixed myself. About 3 months later while working on an assignment with a friend, he noticed that the hinge on the left inside was open a little wider than normal. Now he was a technical guy, I am not, I probably would never have noticed. We inspected the machine and sure enough when it closed it was a little off. I thought to myself no problem I will just have HP fix this and the keys. However when I called HP I was told "This a wear and tear issue" and its not covered by your warranty. I was pissed, wear and tear, I have never done anything to damage my computer and the way it was damaged I dont think I could have done it myself. Still the Manager of tech support told me that I would have to pay the 300 needed to have this machine fixed and of course it will be out another 3-4 weeks. The manager also stated that There are no known hinge problems so I must have done this." So I guess there are known problems to modems stopping and keys falling off, but a defective hinge couldnt possibly have naturally occurred. All I can do now is remember my families suggestions of how I should have bought a MAC and I say to anyone who is about to buy HP. DO NOT TRUST even though MAC cost more. Youll save more in the long run!!! This is a true customer complaint and if you dont think so respond and I post pictures with my keys missing or call me! HP is a shitty company and I promise either its Mac or anything else it will NEVER be HP again!!
