R. S Marine Marketing You are not paid for your services, paid late, lied to about job, asked to drive all over Ct without being riembursed, told to lie to customers, have to keep merchandise in your own car, terrible com

Upon being hired I was promised great pay and advancement. This company expects you to drive all over the state, drive to pick up merchandise, drive to store to set-up and take-down display all without gas or pay reimbursement. I was even asked to drive from one end of CT to the other to relieve a girl who was sick at another store, all without pay of any kind. You also have to get on conference calls every morning at 8 am even on days off again without being paid for your time.
I was paid every time about 3 weeks late. I had to ask repeatdly to be paid. My boss expected me to drive halfway to N. Y on my day off to pick up my own check. When she would mail it, she lied about the day she sent it out which I could tell from the post mark date. She does not liek to send checks because they "get lost". So expect to drive to get them. The amount was never correct. Sometimes taxes were deducted, sometimes they weren't. The pay periods were never recorded on the check, and there was never a breakdown for me to see what I made and how I made it.
As an employee you receive your schedule via text message-how professional. Our schedules were never sent to us on time but usually the night before a day we were scheduled to work. Therefore it was impossible to plan any personal appointments or things for yourself on your "days off".
We worked trade shows promoting and selling various merchandise to the public in wholesale clubs. When I asked how to improve my techniques on a bad day of sales I was told to lie to the public and say we were having a "member appreciation day". We also demonstrated products like skincare and body scrubs on the public. Since we never received extra demo sets, we were told to open boxes and use them on the people over and over. We had to buy alcohol and paper towels with our own money to try to sanitize in some type of way.
When I was "promoted" to the next level (no pay increase, still no benefits) I was finally able to interview.instead of proper training, I was thrown into it without any knowledge of what they expected me to do. Recruiters gave interviewees MY cell phone number to call me when they arrived at the store. Oh great, thanks for notifying me that complete random strangers who sometimes would be turned down, would now have my cell phone number.
You are gauranteed full time, 40 hours of work, which is never the case (again no benefits). Between driving over 3,500 miles in two months and paying for work attire, I actually lost money working for this company. I think the company actually is paying less than minimum wage, and it is virtually impossible to try to keep track of what they owe you because of how the company operates.
Please, know this company is a complete scam and you will be burned. I hope they go down.
