Gold's Gym
Fraudulent Sales Practices, Texas Deceptive Trade Practices-Consumer Protection Act

My girlfriend and I signed up for a gym membership. Like many other people, we were told that we could cancel if we relocated. We were told that we were signing a one year membership. I was told that their was no third party billing, and that all financial matters were between myself and Gold's Gym. These were all lies, told to us to sign a two year contract that they refuse to break. This is a violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices-Consumer Protection Act. Because Gold's Gym is a Franchise, we have full capability to sue all sales individuals involved for damages. We were lured into a purchase based on misrepresentation.in this case intent is involved, and can easily be proven. Gold's gym can be sued for three times the amount of damage incurred, plus mental anguish and attorney fees. Good luck Gold's Gym. Your sales employees are completely vulnerable to lawsuits in most states. Pleas google Texas Deceptive Trade Practices-Consumer Protection Act. Get a lawyer and take the offensive, their contract scam may be hard to fight, but not the sales person who committed fraud.
