Some years ago, I looked for a reading program to help my dyslexic son to learn to read. I was told to look for a phonics software program to use on our computer at home. I found a product that said kids can learn to read in 15 hours. It seemed to look good and had a guarantee. I thought he would like it - it was supposed to be able to hear the child talk and give an answer back. It never worked - he tried and tried and was giving good answers and it kept telling him he was wrong. He cried for an hour and refused to go to school the next day. It was a big fall in his progress. The company told me it was my fault for letting him use the thing alone. I was looking for a phonics program for my daughter so she can start getting ready for first grade next year. I went to the same software site I usually use to buy school software and I saw that the company, called easyreader renamed their product easyphonics and is selling it with the new name. Beware of the worst phonics program from a bad company.
